Philippe Le Billon is an Associate Professor at the University of British Columbia with the Department of Geography and the Liu Institute for Global Issues. He has worked for environmental and humanitarian organizations in Angola, Cambodia, Sierra Leone, and the former-Yugoslavia. Currently conducting research on the political economy and geography of war, extractive sector governance, and the geopolitics of the ‘global land grab’.
